World Nursery Rhyme Week

In mid-November, Pre-School celebrated World Nursery Rhyme Week. Over 5 million children from 113 countries have taken part in this annual event since 2013.

The week promotes the importance of nursery rhymes in early education and development. The benefits include; the development of language and literacy skills, numeracy skills, social, physical and emotional skills and most importantly are great fun.

Each year, five nursery rhymes are chosen and children take part in a rhyme day. Activities cover all areas of the EYFS curriculum focussing on each individual rhyme.

At the end of the week, the children were all presented with a certificate to celebrate taking part in this wonderful event.
