KGJS U11 Boys played Bridgewater School from Worsley, Manchester in the Quarter Final of the AJIS Cup. Kirkham started well, with Dylan Misell scoring an early goal followed not long after by a second to increase the lead. Bridgewater had been playing well and deservedly scored to make it    2-1 at half time. The second half saw both sides produce goal scoring opportunities but both keepers were in good form. Kirkham were pressing hard for a third goal when they lost possession and Bridgewater counter attacked and scored to make it 2-2. A long clearance kick by goalkeeper Jenson Crompton caused havoc in the Bridgewater defence which resulted in an own goal to put Kirkham in the lead. Bridgewater pushed for an equaliser but Kirkham held firm and finished off with a fourth goal from Joshua Mulgrew to win 4-2. They now proceed through to the semi-finals. Well done to you all!
