This morning, Kirkham Grammar School Headmaster, Mr Berry, along with pupils from both the Junior, Infant and Pre-School and Senior School and Sixth Form, planted an Ornamental Cherry Tree in the school grounds in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Ornamental Cherry Tree, similar to a cherry blossom, originated in Japan and was introduced to Britain in the 19th Century.
