Image of J2's Yeast Science Experiment

Yesterday in Science, the J2 pupils were given the task to find out about the effect yeast has on bread. They had to make 3 bread rolls, one with yeast, one with bicarbonate of soda and another without either of the aforementioned in. They were to compare at several stages of the making, baking and completion stages. The basis of this topic of Science, which is 'Bubbles', is to get the children thinking about working scientifically which is a key focus of the National Curriculum. Today's investigation was a 'Yeasty Bubbles investigation', getting them to focus on results and asking questions about why things are happening or why they got the results they did. Below is a link to a superb example of Lois going into real depth in presenting her work and thinking carefully about all factors.
