On Monday 23 September, Fifth Year pupils travelled to Lancaster University for a Discovery Day with the aim of inspiring the pupils to look at Computer Science based degrees. The event saw 100 students from 10 schools from all over Cumbria and Lancashire take part. The students had the opportunity to experience hands on programming, coded a webpage to demonstrate how fake news is created and created a ‘fruit machine’ using 4 Micro:bits. The students also had the opportunity to speak to industry professionals and undergraduate/postgraduate students.
