Image of Porsche Centre Preston confirms continued support for KGS 1st XV into the 2023/24 season

Kirkham Grammar School are delighted to announce Porsche Centre Preston has confirmed its continued support for our 1st XV rugby team, extending its sponsorship into the 2023/24 season.

The extension was confirmed as the team’s new kit was revealed. The car dealership on Watery Lane in Preston, will continue to feature on both the home and away kits.

Porsche Centre Preston's sponsorship of the KGS 1st XV began last season; the first time it had sponsored one of the school’s first teams. In 2024, Kirkham Grammar School will celebrate 100 years of rugby at the school.

Tom Fox, for Porsche Centre Preston, said: “We are excited to extend our support for Kirkham Grammar School 1st XV rugby team. Especially in the season they celebrate 100 years of rugby at the school. They represent so much of what we love about sports in our community. KGS is a perfect fit with our already-established relationships with local teams, Preston Grasshoppers and Fylde RFC. We wish all the young sports people representing Kirkham Grammar School this year the very best for the coming season.”

Earlier this year, Kirkham Grammar School rugby boys won the Sedbergh Super 10s following a 17-5 win in the final v Sedbergh School. The boys put on a talented display in the final to take the cup for a second consecutive year - the first time in the cups' history that Kirkham have won the cup back to back.

Speaking about the extension of the sponsorship, Mr Roddam, Director of Rugby at Kirkham Grammar School, said: “We are proud that Porsche Centre, Preston, has agreed to continue as our 1st XV sponsor. The new kits look wonderful, and we are proud to wear the dealership’s brand on our shirts. Sponsors' support is important and with someone like Porsche Centre, Preston, we are lucky to have a local business partner who shares our passion for sport and education. The tens final v Sedbergh School in March was some of our boys' last game in a KGS shirt and there is no better way to finish their Kirkham career than lifting the Sedbergh Tens Trophy. I couldn't have asked for anything more."

Can Kirkham Grammar School achieve three in a row at Sedbergh Tens in 2024?
