Our amazing U13 squad qualified for the England Hockey National Finals after raising the cup at the North West finals.
The finals were held at Nottingham Hockey Centre on Friday 16 May were the top 8 schools in the country met to battle it out for top spot!
KGS took to the pitch in their first game against Kings Worcester. Captain, Godbold led the way with some terrific runs whilst Cubbins performed superbly in goal.
The next group game saw KGS meet KES Southampton. Another very competitive fixture with chances at both ends. Butler-Reid and Kerr played a huge part in this match, creating space for the attackers to run into and create chances on goal.
The final group game was against Epsom College. A tough game with much of the possession being in defence. Butler-Reid played some amazing hockey down the left hand side of the pitch whilst Hargreaves, Airton and McIllwam created some great opportunities once in front of goal.
The cross over pool match saw KGS meet Millfield School, Somerset. Once again, Cubbins made some crucial saves in goal whilst Godbold and Hargreaves worked tirelessly to open up space for the defence to clear the ball.
A top performance all round from the KGS girls and an incredible achievement to reach the National Finals!
The U12 squad had an amazing opportunity to play at the U12 National Hockey Festival at Nottingham Hockey Centre this last week.
