Kirkham Grammar Junior, Infant and Pre-School Sport

Fylde Schools U11 Boys Football Competition

On Monday 6 November, our U11 Boys' A team (pictured above) took part in the Fylde Schools Football Competition. The competition started in a group stage tournament with four groups. Within the group stages, Kirkham Grammar School U11 boys performed well demonstrating some excellent football and showcasing their skills, teamwork and determination. The team won two, drew one and lost one to finish third in their group. The team progressed into the League Cup which saw them play in a round robin format. They played another two games and scored plenty of goals to achieve an overall position of sixth out of twenty schools.

On Monday 20 November, our U11 Boys' B team (pictured right) took part in the Fylde Schools Football Competition. The competition followed the same format with plenty of games played. Within the group stages, the team won one, drew one and lost two to also finish third in their group and progress to the League Cup. The boys grew in confidence after each game, linking some great passes together which resulted in goals scored. They worked hard both on and off the ball. A special mention to Henry C who had a top performance in goal!

J1 & J2 Netball v St Mary's Hall

On Tuesday 28 November, our Kirkham Grammar School J1 and J2 girls took to the netball court in a chillier than usual climate. The temperature had dropped but the girls' spirits were high with the teams full of enthusiasm during the warm up. The girls rotated which gave them the opportunity to experience playing in a variety of positions. Both teams took plenty of positives from the matches, demonstrating their teamwork, passing and shooting skills.

J1 and J2 Girls Hockey v Ashbridge School

On Wednesday 15 November, Kirkham Grammar School J1 and J2 girls travelled to Ashbridge to play in 5-a-side training games which progressed into a 7-a-side competitive game. The small sided training games gave the girls opportunity to focus on passing and movement. The teams had time to reflect on their performance and tactics before progressing into the 7-a-side games. The games were high energy with the girls demonstrating their skills, teamwork and willpower to gain possession of the ball and create goal attacking situations. 

J2 and J4 Girls Hockey v Sedbergh School

On Wednesday 22 November, Kirkham Grammar School J2 and J4 girls travelled to Sedbergh School. The J4 girls formed two teams and J2 formed one team. The J4 A team took to the field first, playing in a high energy game and creating chances early on to put the ball in the back of the goal. The team battled well in the centre of the pitch to break downplay and create opportunities for the forwards. KGS were strong gaining possession and demonstrating their dribbling and passing skills. J2 showcased their skills and willpower to gain possession of the ball. The team worked well together to create several attacking situations. The team looked solid throughout the game which showed in the final result.

The J4 B team were quick to create an attacking opportunity demonstrating their dribbling skills and linking passes resulting in goal scoring opportunities. The team worked well together showing their work rate up and down the pitch and their determination to gain possession of the ball, ensuring the ball was in the back of the goal.
