Congratulations to our Kirkham Grammar Junior School Singing Ensemble who won the Association of Junior Independent Schools (AJIS) Choir Festival on Tuesday. The standard of competition was high, with ten Independent School choirs taking part. The adjudicator commented on the KGS pupils’ beautiful sound, annunciation, musicality and communication in their performance of both songs - Kokeoko and Somewhere Only We Know.
Kirkham Grammar Junior, Infant and Pre-School music teacher, Ms Boylan, reported after the event: “I am incredibly proud of the Singing Ensemble; I was particularly taken by how gracious the KGS pupils were on hearing the news of their success, and how supportive they were towards the pupils from the other choirs that competed. They were fantastic ambassadors on the day, they demonstrated incredible talent and were a credit to Kirkham Grammar School.”
