Kirkham Grammar School Fifth Year pupil, Sam, has enjoyed a very successful 2021 kart season in the Junior Class (14-16 year olds). Sam finished Vice Champion in the Rotax British Kart Championships, in a highly competitive and very tightly contested championship, which went down to the very last race. He ended the season as the No2 seeded driver in Britain. A fantastic achievement!

Sam also tested for the Ginetta scholarship (a fully paid drive as a works sports car driver) and was one of 60 drivers assessed on media, fitness and driving skills over 2 days. He did really well in the assessment and got through to the final few shortlist, but was unfortunately unsuccessful.

If Sam can realise enough sponsorship for the 2022 season, he hopes to be able to race cars in Formula Ford for a front running team. If not Sam has been offered a sponsored drive in Senior Karts (over 16s) to contest the British Championships.

Good luck, Sam and congratulations on a fantastic season of racing!
