1st XV vs Kings Macclesfield 1st XV
Won 41-10
The 1st xv travelled to Kings Macclesfield hoping to maintain their winning streak. From early on it was apparent that Kirkham were too strong for the home side. The back row of Jorge Lewtas, Sam Dugdale and Teddy Leatherbarrow were in fine form and dominated the opposition from start to finish. Dugdale and Lewtas were amongst the early try scorers as was scrum half Spencer Cope. Also making a big impact was second row Aaron Brody who contributed much to the game. KGS led at half time 29-0 and despite making a number of changes in the second half maintained their control on the game for a 41-10 victory. Full back Nathan Pope had a good day claiming 2 tries and looking dangerous in attack.
2nd XV vs Kings Macclesfield 2nd XV
Won 34-3
The 2nd XV returned to winning ways after two defeats but found it hard to get into gear in the first half. However several chances were created but the combination of poor timing and not passing led to Kirkham not registering a score till late in the half. In fact Kings took the lead against the run of play from a penalty. Kirkham scored through Andrew Bullman, who went past the thirty mark with four more tries, after he cut back inside to touch down. The half time score remaining at 5-3.
The second half saw Kirkham move out of first gear and with even more possession, score five tries. Kings found it hard to live with the power of Kirkham with Callum Hughes marshalling the backs with skill and maturity. Another Kirkham score came from good ruck ball which saw No 8. Connor James gallop over after Bullman had surged down the left to score his second. Kirkham`s final try came from Cameron Wheeler, who has the knack of scoring in every game recently, as he cut back to leave the last defender in his wake and then converting himself. There were eye catching individual performances form others including Alfie Topping in the back row and centres James Allum and George Parkinson who defended and tackled well.
U16 vs Kings Macclesfield U16
Won
The U16 scored five tries in a relatively comfortable victory over King's. The only disappointment on the day was the two scores that KGS allowed King's through a series of defensive lapses. Ed Hindmoor opened the scoring straight from the kick off. From that point KGS struggled to string together any phases and King's dominated possession for long periods. KGS simply gave the ball away too often. However on the occasions KGS got the ball their attacking play was very pleasing. Often resulting in tries. A pleasing game on the whole, although there are still many areas to work on.
U15 vs Kings Macclesfield U15
Lost 33-17
The Kirkham side have put a number of good performances together of late and the boys’ were looking forward to a good test at Kings Macc. Kings threw everything at Kirkham in the first five minutes and it soon became clear that Kings’ big and physical back row were their main threat. Following this period Kirkham established some field position and were moving the ball into space and testing the Kings defence. Oli Mills at 12 took advantage of a gap and following some quick footwork, crossed the line for Kirkham’s first try. The half time score was 12-7.
Kirkham were awarded a penalty in kickable range early in the second half allowing 10 Sam Davies to narrow the scores to 12-10. Kings were next to score, again through their big back row. Kirkham responded with some excellent movement of the ball, eventually finding Oli Barnett in space on the right wing to score their second try. With the scores at 19-17 Kirkham had a real chance to claim another win away from home, however it was not to be. Kings increased the pressure and Kirkham missed too many tackles in the final quarter of the game. Final score Kings 33, Kirkham 17.
U14A vs Kings Macclesfield U14A

U14B vs Kings Macclesfield U14B
Lost 50-12
With illnesses and injuries this was always going to be tough fixture for the B team and it wasn’t long before Kings had scored a couple of tries out wide and Kirkham had organise their defence better. This slowed down the tries in the second half and Kirkham started to move the ball more quickly, with Jason Choi finishing off a lovely converted try after a strong run from Matthew Sutcliffe. The Kirkham boys never gave up and scored the last points from another Jason Choi try after he sprinted from the half way line beating the entire Kings team and placed the ball under the posts.
U13A vs Kings Macclesfield U13A
Won 30-10
Kings Macclesfield started brightly and looked comfortable in possession, but the strong Kirkham defence prevented any significant line breaks from occurring. Led by Gregor Anderson, the Kirkham pack started to dominate the breakdown, which led to Kirkham recycling the ball with good effect. Crompton at scrum half capitalised on the quick ball and the Kirkham back started to impose themselves. Merrick and Gut both made breaks in the first half and were rewarded with tries for their efforts. Anderson also crossed the line in the first half, after swift hands led to a two on one in the right corner.
Kirkham continued their dominance in the second half of the game and pressurised the Kings side in defence and were quick to secure any loose ball on the ground. The pack maintained possession well with Rowlins, Hoad and Livermore ensuring ‘front foot’ ball. Further tries in the second half from Rowlins, Mathauda and Medcalfe gave Kirkham the win against a spirited Kings Macclesfield team who tested Kirkham in areas but ultimately the fitness and skill level of the home side prevailed and the final result of 30-10 was a fair reflection of the Kirkham performance on the day.
U12A vs Kings Macclesfield U12A

U12B vs Kings Macclesfield U12B
Lost 25-0
This was a tough fixture for the KGS U12B team who struggled against a strong Kings Macclesfield side. Kirkham started the game strongly but their opposition rose to the challenge and competed well at the breakdown to secure clean ball for their backs who made the most of the possession. KGS struggled to do the same and found it difficult to move the ball when they were in possession. Despite the score line there were many positives for the KGS side who have been improving each week from the start of the season with a significant improvement in tackling and organisation.
