Following an extensive selection process to play rugby for Lancashire through the Sale Sharks Development Player Pathway (DPP), Kirkham Grammar School pupils, James, Jack C, Jack A, Harry, Oliver and Monty, have been attending sessions run by Sale over the course of the season. The process to get into the Development Player Pathway was selective based on a number of training sessions and earlier this season a trial was held. The boys that remained at the Sale Sharks DPP training, at Preston Grasshoppers, formed the Lancashire U16 teams.
The boys have already played games against Cheshire and are due to play games against the Midlands at Worcester Warriors RFC and the Isle of Man over the next few weeks.
Some of the Kirkham Grammar School boys, Seb, Callum and Jack A were also invited to the Sharks Development Group (SDG), a level above the Sale Sharks DPP which involves more frequent training and regular games.
Congratulations to you all and good luck for the rest of the season.
