On Tuesday 20 February, Kirkham Grammar School J2 pupils took part in the Sportshall Athletics competition at Carr Hill High School. The event was split into track and field events with the relay races taking place last. This was the biggest event to date with 11 local primary schools competing. The events test the pupils' athletics ability in several methods for example; strength, speed, endurance, power, and coordination. The competition was an exciting event with all of the pupils being given the opportunity to experience a track and field event. The team demonstrated their determination and team spirit throughout the afternoon. The competition was a team event with Kirkham Grammar Junior School finishing in second place overall.

Kirkham Grammar School U14s started their rugby sevens season at Sedbergh School. In a tough group, the KGS boys played exceptionally well to top the group, after impressive wins against Prince Henry's Grammar School, Queen Ethelburga's and finally Stonyhurst College, who they beat 33-0. This meant they met Rodillian Academy in the cup semi-final, and despite having much of the play, unfortunately two drop balls near the Rodillian try line when KGS looked certain to score, ended up turning into two length of the field converted tries for the Yorkshiremen, which was the difference at the end as Kirkham went down 33-15. A great first run out with H Grigg, J Gillett and S Clarke standing out with some impressive performances.
