Netball at Kirkham goes from strength to strength as all the teams achieve excellent results week in week out.
The school runs 6 netball teams across 4 age ranges. We aim to include as many girls as possible in the opportunity to learn about, enjoy and represent the school. At first and second year level we run both A and B teams. It is expected that if a pupil is selected for a particular age group squad she will take part in all practices and games when requested.
All netball fixtures take place midweek. The friendly league matches for 1st and 2nd years take place on Tuesday evenings, and the 3rd and 4th year league fixtures take place on Thursday evenings. Each pupil will be given a school calendar at the beginning of the term, which indicates the dates for all fixtures in place. Unfortunately, we can not enter all of the fixtures into the calendar before it is published, as the draw for the leagues do not take place until August. As soon as fixtures are confirmed they will be entered into the calendar on the web site.
The details of fixtures are also placed on the wall of the 38 block corridor at school.
The calendar and web site also informs the pupils of practice times during the week. At school, team sheets and further information about forthcoming fixtures are posted on the Girls PE notice board in the 38 block corridor.
We aim to give as much information as possible well in advance of all fixtures. If we have to change practices or cancel fixtures at short notice, we will post such notices on the PE boards and circulate information around forms, assemblies etc. We will also inform the main school reception (01772 684264). Further information can also be obtained from the PE Office (01772 688117).
All girls should wear their full school tracksuits on their way to and from fixtures. All girls should have full school netball kit for all fixtures.
We welcome parental support for all fixtures, both home and away. Maps for directions to our away fixtures can be found on the web site. Alternatively photocopies can be obtained from the PE Office.
