A busy term that included the King's Division Normandy Band joining the School Band for a night of music

On Thursday 5th February the King’s Division Normandy Band made their fourth annual visit to KGS and members of our Concert Band joined the Band, under their Director of Music, Captain Gary Clegg, for an afternoon workshop and an evening concert. Playing an extremely challenging programme, the KGS musicians performed excellently, having never seen the music before the afternoon workshop. It is a great honour for KGS to receive a visit from the Normandy Band in successive years, as the demand for their services from schools and colleges is very high.
On Wednesday 24th March the members of the Concert Band have been invited to join the Normandy Band for a concert in Preston Minster in support of the Army Benevolent Fund. Again, we are very proud that KGS musicians have been invited to perform with the Band at such a prestigious event.
On Tuesday 23 March the KGS Wind Quintet has been invited once more to perform at the Lord Lieutenant’s Reception, to be held in Preston Minster.
