Kirkham were pressing hard for a third goal when they lost possession and Bridgewater counter attacked and scored to make it 2-2. A long clearance kick by goalkeeper Jenson Crompton caused havoc in the Bridgewater defence which resulted in an own goal to put Kirkham in the lead.
