St Mary's Hall Cross Country

The Under 13 boys and girls took part in the North West Schools’ Cross Country at St. Mary`s Hall on Wednesday acquitting themselves very well in testing conditions. The weather was kind this year as the girls set off on their lap and a half of Stonyhurst Golf Course. Jessica took an early lead which she held as the runners disappeared into the distance. Jessica was only headed in the last half mile and finished overall second with Frankie 3rd and Talia 6th. The other runners in the team were Millie , Jasmine , Jessica and Hennie who all finished inside the top 20 - this meant Kirkham were pipped into 2nd place overall behind SMH.

The boys fared similarly as they finished 2nd overall to the hosts SMH, who had a strong team, with the first three runners over the line. Ben Nichols came in 4th for Kirkham followed by Alex (7th) and Archie (8th). Our three other runners were just outside the top ten, namely Tom , Oliver and Ethan .

A fantastic effort by all the boys and girls, with a healthy following of parents, meant for an excellent day all round. Well done to all!

On Thursday 16 November, The U11 boys and girls competed in the St Mary’s Hall Invitational Cross Country Championship.

Over 80 runners tackled an incredibly demanding course. Representing the boys were: Harry , Harvey , Jensen , Charlie , Oliver , Teddy and Alex . The girls were represented by Alexa , Claudia , Eva , Lily , Evie , Georgia and Megan . On this occasion we did not gain a team place, although everyone gave 100% effort.

Thank you to all our parents who came along to support ND TO St Mary’s Hall for organising a wonderful event.
