Key Dates 2019
All candidates entered for the entrance examination are automatically considered for an academic scholarship.
Sixth Form Scholarships
Candidates must be registered with the school in order to participate in the scholarships. Potential Sixth Form entrants who are not already registered are encouraged to contact the school as soon as possible in order to gain further information.
Application forms are available from Mr Walmsley, Registrar.
There are four types of scholarship in the Sixth Form – academic, sport, music and drama.
Academic applicants should be potentially A*/A GCSE candidates.
Music scholarships will be awarded on the demonstration of potential contribution in the musical sphere. Candidates will normally be expected to be at grade 7 although the school will reserve the right to allocate an award to those on a lower grade who are judged to have outstanding potential.
It is anticipated that sports applicants will have gained selection at least at County level in one sport or more, or have equivalent accreditation where appropriate.
A number of Scholarships are awarded annually for entry at 11+ and into the Sixth Form. With effect from September 2019, Sixth Form Academic Scholarships will be calculated based on GCSE results.
A number of bursaries are awarded to help those parents requiring assistance with tuition fees and to reward academic merit. In order to ensure the fair distribution of bursary funds, parents who have indicated their interest in receiving financial assistance will be invited to provide full details of their joint income and outgoings to enable the school to determine their eligibility for financial assistance - this information is treated in the strictest confidence. The award of a bursary will be subject to annual review.
The boarding fee for children whose parents are current members of HM Forces is discounted by 5%.
