Kirkham Grammar Pre-School provides a wide range of opportunities, challenges and experiences for your child to grow and develop, with a range of exceptional resources and facilities in a purpose-built setting.
But our school is not just about the wonderful facilities, it is the atmosphere and ethos that distinguishes our truly outstanding Pre-School.
Our highly experienced staff recognise that self-esteem and self-confidence are an essential foundation for nurturing success and our children can grow and develop in a caring and loving atmosphere.
Children can enter our Pre-School anytime from their 3rd birthday. We ensure that every child feels happy and secure and our belief of meeting individual needs in a small class is highly evident in our Pre-School.
Within the curriculum, we aim to stimulate childrens’ imaginations and careful individual planning equips the children with the skills necessary for their future education. We believe that play is a crucial part of a child’s development and it is through play that a child can practise, consolidate and extend their learning and experiences. We use “The Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage” as a guide to our planning and through one to one and small group attention, we aim to stimulate and challenge and also instill and consolidate vital basic life skills.
Our Pre-School opens at 8.30am but there is a Breakfast Club that runs from 7.45-8.30am. Pre-School remains open until 5.45pm during term time.
Each child’s progress is carefully monitored and parents are kept fully informed and involved through regular parents’ evenings, reports and informal daily meetings at the beginning and end of each session.
Our children wear much of the school’s uniform and a list is available upon request and can be purchased from our on-site school shop.
Lunch and Snacks
Healthy snacks are available twice a day and the children are given a choice of hot meals in our Dining Room. Individual dietary needs can be catered for. An afternoon tea of sandwiches and a drink is served late afternoon.
